The Social Innovation Partnership Certifies as a B Corporation
We’re proud that TSIP has recently been certified as a B Corporation - a quality mark for businesses that can prove they meet high social and environmental standards.
Social impact has always been at the heart of TSIP’s work - over the last ten years, we’ve worked to move the dial on some of the most complex social issues, helping those who are trying to do good to do better, with the ultimate aim of improving people’s wellbeing and making society fairer.
In recent years, we’ve taken steps to carry our commitment to social causes from our projects through every aspect of the business - how we work, how we’re led, who we work with and who we work for. The B Corp certification process looks at all of these areas. In order to achieve certification, we needed to achieve a benchmark score of over 80 while providing evidence of socially and environmentally responsible practices relating to energy supplies, waste and water use, worker compensation, governance, diversity and corporate transparency. To complete the certification, we will legally embed our commitment to purpose beyond profit in our company articles.
Genevieve Laurier, Managing Director at TSIP says “as an organisation committed to driving positive social change, it has been great to validate and be recognised for what we are doing well and to have been given a framework for how we could do better. We were especially pleased to be recognised for our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and our focus on purpose-driven work. The certification process has highlighted areas like the environment where we could be doing more. We are committed to keep improving and are looking forward to getting after it.”
Chris Turner, Executive Director of B Lab UK, says “We are delighted to welcome The Social Innovation Partnership to the B Corp community. This is a movement of companies who are committed to changing how business operates, who believe business really can be a force for good. We know that TSIP is going to be a fantastic addition to the community and will continue driving the conversation forward”.
TSIP is now part of a community of over 3,400 businesses globally who have certified as B Corps. The B Corp community in the UK includes over 330 companies of different industries and sizes, including well-known brands such as The Guardian, innocent, Patagonia, The Body Shop, and Abel & Cole.
