SEEKING SOCIAL PURPOSE ORGANISATIONS AND COMMISSIONERS IN BRISTOL AND BIRMINGHAM
The Social Innovation Partnership (TSIP) and UnLtd- the Foundation for Social Entrepreneurs are looking to engage commissioners and social purpose organisations in Birmingham and Bristol in a Big Lottery funded project promoting lived experience in social sector leadership. The initiative aims to understand and tackle the barriers that are preventing more people with direct experience of social issues from influencing and leading social change.
The project has recruited a diverse cohort of early-stage changemakers (‘experts by experience’) in the two locations, some of them looking to start their own organisations, some working within existing organisations, and some looking to campaign on issues they’ve experienced. We are keen to reach out to organisations in Birmingham and Bristol be they funders/commissioners, service providers or otherwise, to understand their perspectives of these issues and to identify ways forward. We will be holding ‘call to action’ events in Birmingham on 23 May and in Bristol on 30 May and a sub-set of attendees will be invited to engage further in the co-design process.
