TSIP receives impact investment from The Social Investment Consultancy and launches CIC
We are delighted to announce that the Social Innovation Partnership (TSIP) has received impact investment from TSIC and launches a new community interest company, marking the beginning of an exciting new growth phase as we continue to focus on the delivery of our strategy ‘Reimaging a Fair Society.’
TSIP’s Founder and Senior Advisor, Stephen Bediako OBE, remarked, “I am thrilled by the opportunity that this new investment presents to TSIP. After nearly 14 years it’s right that we evolve and grow TSIP and having worked with Bonnie Chu across the sector over the years - I couldn't think of a better suited investor, to match our ambition and commitment to the sector.”
The two B Corp social impact consultancies share the same missions of supporting people and organisations to achieve a fair and equitable society, and have been working with and alongside each other within the UK ecosystem. This investment is a real show of solidarity in the social impact space and the close working relationship between TSIP and TSIC will bring more value to our clients and partners as we build synergies and innovation across our services offerings and invest in our people.
Founder and Managing Director of TSIC, Bonnie Chiu, said, “We worked with TSIP as the learning partner to their innovative, community-led fund, The Giving Lab, and partnered together to deliver projects for clients. We love the uniqueness of TSIP’s participatory research and co-design, and we are really proud to have provided the financial support they need to take their vision to the next stage.”
Alongside TSIP’s new impact investment we are also pleased to announce the launch of our new Community Interest Company as part of the TSIP family. TSIP Labs CIC will be home to our non-profit community-led funds and initiatives, as well as our new fiscal hosting service. Mercy Shibemba, TSIP Lab CIC Chair commented “the establishment of TSIP Labs CIC was an integral part of delivering on TSIP’s strategy and we now have the infrastructure to safeguard funds and initiatives designated for the community”.
TSIP’s existing Board of Directors have been invited to govern TSIP Labs CIC whilst we’ve created a more agile Board to govern TSIP’s social impact consultancy. Bonnie Chu has been appointed Chair of TSIP’s Consultancy Board, and she is joined by TSIP’s Founder and Senior Advisor, Stephen Bediako, and Mercy Shibemba, who will also take up the Chair position of TSIP Labs CIC.
Katie Fowler, CEO at TSIP, said “This is a really exciting time for TSIP - achieving both an impact investment from TSIC and the establishment of the CIC means that TSIP is future-proofed, with the right people and infrastructure to innovate and evolve our consultancy service offerings and grow our fiscal hosting offering to champion participatory funding and community-led social impact.”
